Thank you to the 800 peoplewho made ConVocation 2010 a resounding success. We all deserve a round ofapplause for Surviving the Storm and the destruction of the Towerthat had become our prison. As so many of you didn’t want to leave afterClosing Ceremonies, we are glad we were able to give you a few more classes tomake it last a little longer.
Rituals and classes offeredby our teachers were once again so popular that we had some struggles to manageeveryone into the room or time allowed. Thank you for your patience if you wereone of the people waiting or squeezed into a room. Thank you to Jackie Smith,Kenn Day, and Jo-Ann/GreenWoman, among others, for working with crowdedconditions and gracefully paying the price of your popularity. Other teachers, especiallySelena Fox, Michelle Bellanger, and Raven Kaldera managed a large number ofpeople in a room that was twice the necessary size and did a great job of beingheard by all. All of our teachers were professional as well as joyful. We arelucky to have all of you.
ConVocation Staff putshundreds of volunteer hours into preparing as well as putting on ConVocation. For many of us the theme of the Con echoes through our lives all year long. TheTower has been a particularly challenging year with more changes and surprisesthan anyone could have predicted. All three dozen staff members were givingfreely from resources that had been depleted by the storms of the last year.Still they found time to lend an ear, build a tower and step-up to fill theholes left by the storm. Six of the Staff are also MEC Board Members who havebeen doing this for more years than they can remember. To those who paid inblood, sweat and tears to make ConVocation happen; your dedication andperseverance speak for themselves. There is a Blessing on All Who Serve.
